What is CDS?
Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS) is organized
twice by the Union Public Service Commission in a year. Through this
examination, officers of the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training
Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy are recruited.
Age criteria:
Indian Military Academy (IMA): 19-24 years
Officers Training Academy (OTA): 19-25 years
Air Force Academy: 19-23 years
Naval Academy: 19-22 years
Marital status: Unmarried
Educational
qualification:
IMA & OTA:
Degree of a recognized University or equivalent
Naval Academy:
B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering
Air Force Academy:
B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering
Examination pattern:
Written exam, followed by a personal interview (Intelligence and Personality
Test) and a medical examination
Preparation time:
Recommended a dedicated time of minimum of six months
Negative marking:
Yes
